TYPO 12 sketchnotes

Wie versprochen, habe ich auch die TYPO12 (für mich) grafisch dokumentiert. Es macht wirklich großen Spaß, auch wenn ich an die tollen Sketchnotes von Eva noch nicht ganz ran komme (Unbedingt hier anschauen)

Da die Bilder heir auf Tumblr etwas klein sind, gibt es einen eigenen Flickr-Stream dafür.

Republica Sketchnotes #rp12

Dieses Jahr war ich das erste Mal (so richtig) auf der Republica. Die muss ich wahrscheinlich nicht erklären. Kennt man ja: Internet und so. 

Und dieses Mal habe ich mich das erste mal an »richtigen« Sketchnotes einzelner Talks versucht. Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass es sich um eine äußerst spontane Idee handelte, war ich auch ausrüstungstechnisch nicht so gut aufgestellt, daher fehlen mir leider die Farben für Hervorhebungen.

Demnächst ist TYPO. Ich bleibe dran.

Railsgirls

Last week I attended Railsgirls Berlin - an event organised by some enthusiastic Fins to get more woman into tech. 

Being a (web)designer and co-founder of a web-agency, I am familiar with all kinds of webtech stuff, especially being surrounded by some very talented »code-artists« at LAUNCH/CO. But I never got very deep into coding so Railsgirls was a nice chance to do so.

Usually all these »woman in tech« things are not really my thing. They often are a little embarrassing and awkward. But in that case it was more like »Hey, you’re girl and not into tech? Let’s change that!«.

So we did!

There were a couple of great coaches there (thanks to our coach Konstantin Haase) and I met a lot of fantastic people. I had a great time and even though I’m a designer from the bottom of my heart I really liked getting in touch with some new techniques.

Of course you can’t learn coding in a day. But you can get curious in a day! We’ll see where it goes from here! 

Thanks to the organizers and the coaches who volunteered. It was truly a great day!

Logoworks Website

I habe gerade eine Logo-Website gelaunched: http://nadine-rossa.de/logos 

Warum?

Über die letzten Jahre und in meiner Zeit als Freelance-Designer habe ich eine menge Logo-Jobs gemacht. Eine Menge! Nicht alle von ihnen wurden benutzt, aber da es so viele sind, würde ich sie gerne irgendwo zeigen. Sie sind noch nicht alle online (eigentlich ist das gerade mal ein Drittel), aber ich verspreche sie nach und nach auszubauen.

Why?

Over the last years working as a freelance designer I did a lot of logo-jobs. A lot! And not all of these logos were used at the end but since I had so many of them I’d like to showcase them somewhere. It’s not all of them, actually it’s just one third but I promise I keep updating them.

Creative Morning Berlin #8 - Me and the Eszett.

Vor zwei Wochen erhielt ich von Jürgen Siebert (der die Berliner Creative Mornings organisiert) einen sehr charmanten Anruf. Er wusste – wie die meisten von euch – über meine kleine Vorliebe für den Buchstaben Eszett und fragte mich, ob ich mir vorstellen könnte darüber auf einem der Creative Mornings in Berlin zu sprechen. Da ich das schon ein paar Mal gemacht habe, schien das naheliegend.

Aber die da die Creative Mornings alle auf Video aufgezeichnet werden und dann für immer (für immer!) im Internet stehen, bat ich um kurze Bedenkzeit. Ich ging die Slides durch und habe die Geschichte ein wenig überarbeitet (Danke an Ole Tillmann) und sagte zu.

So … hier ist das Video. Ich habe es selbst noch nicht gesehen, sich selbst zu sehen ist irgendwie komisch. Aber man hat mir gesagt, es wäre recht unterhaltsam :-)

Two weeks ago I got a call from the charming Jürgen Siebert who is the organizer of Berlin’s Creative Mornings. He – as a lot of you – knew about my little preference for the letter ß and asked me if I wanted to speak about it on March’s Creative Morning in Berlin. Since I did a couple of talks about it already that seemed like an easy thing to do. 


But since all Creative Mornings are videotaped and on the internet forever (FOREVER!), I wanted to think about it first. I went through the slides and decided to rearrange the story a little (with the help of the lovely Ole Tillmann) and accepted the invite.

Well … here’s the video. I didn’t watch it, I don’t like to see myself on screen speaking but I was told it is entertaining.

New Corporate Design for SQUADMAIL

Kürzlich erhielten wir bei LAUNCH/CO die Anfrage, die Landingpage für Squadmail zu gestalten. Squadmail ermöglicht es E-Mail-Ordner innerhalb der Mailbox mit Teams zu teilen. 

Die Jungs hatten vor nach San Francisco zu fliegen, um das Projekt auf einer Konferenz vorzustellen. Und bis zum Abflug war nicht mehr viel Zeit.

Also habe ich ein »schnelles« Corporate Design für sie entworfen: Logo, Illustrationen und Landingpage. Ein richtigs CD gab es bis dahin noch nicht, nur Blau und Gelb als Farbe.

Recently we at LAUNCH/CO were asked to design a Squadmail Landingpage. SquadMail lets you share email folders from your mailbox with groups and teams. 

The guys were planning to go to San Francisco to attend a big conference and there was not much time left. So I did a »quick« Corporate Design for them: Logo, illustrations and landingpage. There was not much of a CD at that point: just yellow and sort of a blue that they were already using.

Made in Berlin Badge

Ende letzten Jahres nahm ich am »Made in Berlin« Badge Contest von techberlin teil. Gesucht war ein offizielles Made in Berlin-Badge, das Startups und Unternehmen auf ihren Websites verwenden können, jetzt wo doch Berlin das neue Silicon Valley ist.

Ich habe nicht gewonnen, bin aber Dritte geworden und weil ich trotz Nicht-Gewinns mehrfach gefragt wurde, ob das Siegel trotzdem verwendet werden kann, stelle ich es hier als EPS und PNG zum Download bereit. Benutzt es, wenn ihr wollt.

Ich habe übrigens die Schrift geändert in die Ernestine von Nina Stössigener (die es während des Contests noch nicht gab und die mir außerordentlich gut gefällt). Kaufen kann man sie bei Fontshop.

LAUNCH/CO christmas card

We had an amazing first year at LAUNCH/CO so we wanted to thank everyone with personal christmas cards. If we do have you mail-adress you might have had one in you mailbox.
